Our approach

We believe in a holistic approach to childcare that involves the whole family, and pride ourselves on creating a happy, nurturing environment with plenty of access to nature and fresh air for outdoor play.

We understand that every child is different and has their own individual needs, therefore we ensure that each child can learn and grow in their own way so that they can develop strong roots for their future. We believe stimulating activities and experiences encourage a lifelong love of learning.

Health and well-being

Hand washing facilities and hand sanitiser are available throughout the building and all surfaces are regularly cleaned. A professional clean is also conducted throughout the entire building at the end of the day. We encourage everyone to wash their hands frequently, as well as to avoid touching their mouth, eyes and nose.

Security

We have a number of security measures to ensure your children are safe in our care. For example: biometric fingerprint entry access, staffed reception, checking of all visitors, secure windows and doors and regular fire drills.

All of our staff have also been carefully trained and vetted, and are knowledgeable about all security procedures and policies to make Green Roots as safe as possible.

Menu & nutrition

We are dedicated to maintaining our very high standards in food preparation to provide healthy choices and a culturally diverse menu so that children can experience a wide array of different flavours and textures. All food is prepared fresh in our kitchen and we can also accommodate a variety of different diets.

We encourage children to serve themselves when possible, and meal times are also an opportunity for social interaction, as children learn from each other and learn good table manners.

Tracking children's development

Our user friendly online system allows you to keep track of your child’s progress at Green Roots from wherever you are! We use Famly, which is the most advanced EYFS childcare management software system.

You will be able to keep track of: bottle feeds, nappy changes, sleep times, observations, see photos and more! You will also be able to input and record your own information about your child’s progress that happens at home,once a term through a detailed, written progress report.
