Green Roots Nursery & Pre-School

Our team

Everyone in our team brings warmth, enthusiasm and a genuine commitment to providing the best possible care for every child. We believe a great nursery and a great place to work go hand in hand, so we take great care in building a skilled, supportive and experienced team.

All members of staff are carefully selected and subject to enhanced DBS checks, helping to ensure children are cared for in a safe and nurturing environment.

Teamwork

We expect a lot from our team and, in return, provide continuous training, development and support in a friendly and rewarding working environment.

Our managers hold recognised safeguarding qualifications and are qualified First Aiders. Team members receive ongoing training across areas such as safeguarding, health and safety, fire safety, food hygiene and moving and handling.

Our annual anonymous team survey also gives every colleague the opportunity to share their views, ideas and suggestions, helping us continue to improve as a nursery and as a place to work.

Meet our management team

Lauren Woznicki, Deputy Manager

Lauren Woznicki

GROUP MANAGER

Lauren has a Level 3 Diploma in Early Years Education and Care, and a Level 5 Diploma in management and oversees the inclusion for the setting (INCO).

“Nurturing, supporting and looking after children has always been a passion of mine. I thoroughly enjoy teaching the children and learning from them every day. Green Roots creates a secure, happy and nurturing environment for all children and this really shows through their progression from babies until they are ready for school”.

Shannen Hanbury-Upton

DEPUTY MANAGER / INCO

Shannen has 10 years of experience in childcare and has been part of the Green Roots team for 7 years. She holds a Post-Graduate Certificate in Early Education and is Deputy Manager and Inclusion Coordinator (INCO).

“Helping children learn, develop and grow in confidence has always been a real passion of mine. I believe children learn best through play, exploration and positive relationships, and I enjoy supporting their independence in a safe and nurturing environment. Green Roots is a place where children can feel happy, secure and able to thrive.”

Tracey Jordan

DEPUTY MANAGER / SENCO

Tracey has 30 years of experience in childcare and has been part of the Green Roots team for over 2 years. She holds NNEB and NVQ Level 4 qualifications in Children’s Learning, Care and Development and is Deputy Manager.

“I chose a career in childcare because I wanted to help give children the best possible start in life. I love seeing children grow in confidence, develop their own personalities and reach their potential. Green Roots provides a warm, home-from-home environment where children feel safe, happy and secure, giving them the confidence to explore, learn and thrive.”

Experienced and caring team

All of the Green Roots team receive a thorough induction upon appointment in order to fully understand their role and the Green Roots ethos.

Deputy Managers

Our Deputy Managers support the Nursery Manager in the day-to-day running of Green Roots and help ensure consistently high standards of care, learning and safeguarding across the nursery.

Room Managers, Lead and Senior Practitioners

Our experienced senior practitioners support the delivery of high-quality care and learning throughout the nursery. They work closely with colleagues, children and families to help ensure each child receives consistent support and opportunities to thrive.

Early Years Practitioners

All of our Nursery Practitioners (Level 2 and 3), hold a minimum of a Level 2 Childcare qualification, and some also hold a Degree in Childcare. The Practitioners form a friendly team who are all passionate about childcare.

Trainee Early Years Practitioner

Our Trainees are very enthusiastic about beginning their rewarding career in childcare. At Green Roots, we support them on this journey as they work towards a Level 2 or Level 3 childcare qualification.

Early Years Workers

The Early Years Workers generally work part time and support the nursery and pre school when needed, removing the need to use agency workers.

“A wonderful, nurturing environment with caring staff – our child is always so happy and settled.”
