Security is important to safeguard your children whilst they are in our care. From the fingerprint security entry system and staffed reception, to our carefully trained and vetted staff, we have put into place all the practices and policies for security that will ensure your children are safe when they are with us.

We take advice from the Environmental Health Agency and are inspected by the Food Standards Agency. We were recently awarded a Level 5 – the highest possible standard by Environmental Health. As all good facilities should, we regularly run risk assessments to ensure we stay vigilant and knowledgeable, and act accordingly post assessment.

In 2023, we received our Millie’s Mark accreditation! Having the Millie’s Mark award demonstrates our commitment to going above and beyond the minimum requirements for keeping children safe. “It shows that all staff working directly with children not only hold a paediatric first aid certificate but that they are also competent in how to apply this in practice. Achieving Millie’s Mark shows you have the correct procedures and documentation in place and gives parents that greater reassurance”.
First Aid Boxes are located throughout the building and are accessible at all times. All team also take part in annual refresher training and complete their full and relevant Paediatric First Aid training every three years.
At Green Roots we treat our responsibilities and obligations in respect of health and safety as a priority and we provide ongoing training to all members of staff which reflects best practice and is in line with current health and safety legislation
