At Green Roots, we support Pre-School children to develop the confidence, independence and skills they need for their next stage. It is also really important for children to learn and play independently, expanding their knowledge and curiosity about the world, as well as learning with other children to further develop their social skills.
Introducing flavours from around the world means every mealtime is an opportunity to learn, and not just about the food. Mealtimes are sociable and fun, with healthy balanced meals and creative menus that help children develop an interest in what they are eating.

Our entrances have secure locking systems and biometric scanning so that everyone remains safe in the building.

From age 3 to 5, children are becoming more comfortable expressing themselves using words and are growing in confidence. They have more self-control and are more attentive, relying less on others and becoming more independent. With finer motor skills and enquiring minds, the world and all its incredible mysteries are there to be explored… and of course, endlessly questioned!
We encourage self-confidence and give Pre-schoolers the freedom to spark and explore their individual interests. Our greatest pleasure is seeing children in our pre-school get real enjoyment out of learning, so that when they start school, they are self-assured and raring to go. Our learning activities are the perfect combination of fun, while also being tailored to enhancing necessary cognitive and behavioural skills.

From September, children who are due to start school the following September begin our School Readiness programme. The programme supports children to build the confidence, independence and skills they will need as they prepare for their transition to school.
We also have special focus activities that give the children a fantastic opportunity to further develop skills in areas such as Literacy and Maths. Small groups of children take part in wonderful activities that enhance their learning on a more personalised level. This method gives the children a more hands-on, one-on-one approach at learning with more attention and the ability for us to focus on their individual needs.
At Green Roots, our approach to learning and hands-on activities equip the pre-school children with the right cognitive and social skills, as well as the knowledge and preparedness to enter their next exciting chapter of attending school in September.

Learning is further explored through regular outings and day trips, giving children opportunities to experience new environments and engage with the local community.
These experiences help bring learning to life, encouraging children to explore the world around them, build confidence in unfamiliar settings and develop their curiosity beyond the Pre-School environment.

We have designed a welcoming and comforting environment at Green Roots so children can feel at home. As children go through the “into everything” phase, their interest and confidence grow, as their mobility, dexterity and language improve. We help this development by providing purpose-built, age relevant furniture, toys and resources so their learning can flourish.
From ICT to role play, exciting activities or quieter areas, we have created a variety of different options so that children can choose where and how they want to learn.
Outdoor play and fresh air are an important part of everyday life at Green Roots. Our garden gives children plenty of opportunities to explore, move, investigate and enjoy different surfaces, equipment and natural resources.
During the warmer months, our gardener visits regularly and works with the children to help maintain the planting areas and grow herbs, fruit and vegetables such as strawberries and lettuce.
We use Famly to help keep parents and carers connected with nursery life. Through the secure Famly app, you can access information about your child, including daily updates, photos, assessments, messages, invoices, accident forms and important notices.
Parents and carers have 24/7 access to their information through the app, while members of the Green Roots team respond to messages during nursery working hours.
Famly helps us share information clearly and work in partnership with families throughout their child’s time at Green Roots.
